Short Biography:

Expert Witness, Computer Forensics:

Independent Consultant, January 2003 Current
Hired by Cravath Swain and Moore as an expert witness and technical team member in a large anti-trust civil case in The Supreme Court of Michigan. In this capacity I provide advice and document instances of suspected code copying and strategic potential anti-trust violations. I document these suspected cases and present exhibits which may be used at trial. I am also a technology leader and I am responsible for guiding the research team in the availability and use of technology to assist in the case expert reporting, depositions and research libraries.
I have been part of the research team directing and presenting to lawyers as well as working with the paralegals since the team was established. I have created expert reports, provided rebuttals for numerous accusations and have attended depositions for either the plaintiff or the defendant.

Logic Trends, Identity Forge
Mainframe consultant providing expertise and solution building in the connection of Mainframe systems to open access servers for provisioning security password updates and remote access to secure systems. Identity Forge is a product used to provision many platforms with password maintenance and integrity. This secure protocol utilizes assembler mainframe code to provision and provide Maintenance for IBM RACF, Computer Associates ACF2 and Top Secret directory repositories. Authorization control can also extend mainframe datasets. Transport layers used are MQ Series, Java on CICS, Stand Alone Mainframe Java and IMS transport exits.

Cap Gemini Ernst & Young

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oregon (Regents)
I was asked to evaluate the conversion of the legacy claims system to an open systems platform, utilizing Microsoft Server in a net environment. I was a member of a four person team requested directly by the Board of Trustees. We performed a complete project audit, held interviews with the section managers and project management, reviewed project plans and staffing charts. I created a list of possible exposures and a series of recommendations for mitigating and solving the issues that were discovered during the audit. The team then documented and presented the findings to the Board of Trustees.
I was specifically tasked to evaluate the hardware, infrastructure and operating system to determine the performance levels during peak time and the response expected to each user as well as evaluating product use as a file and print server, and a VPN network bridge for remote users and Active Directory services.
I created a management level presentation and presented our findings to the Board of Trustees of Regents with recommendations for reducing the risk of further cost overruns and dramatically increasing financial exposure.
The project consisted of a conversion from a legacy mainframe system to Trizetos Claimfax open systems based Server product.

Continuum Health Partners, New York NY
Data center and application support manager for a five hospital consortium.
I managed the largest computer room expansion in the history of the consortium. I was part of an evaluation team that chose the Oracle Financial systems, which replaced the legacy payroll and financial systems, as well as CARECAST laboratory systems to replace an obsolete vendor laboratory system. In my role as Data Center Director I acted as the primary interface to all of the vendors and was instrumental in negotiating and renegotiating all contracts on the customers behalf. As Data Center Manager I was responsible for the support and installation of major legacy system replacement projects including the software installation and support of nine major systems as well as upgrading all the legacy systems to provide interfaces to the new software.
I was responsible for the entire E-mail server farm for the entire Continuum consortium which utilized MS Exchange, with MS Outlook and Outlook Express. These servers were the primary E-mail communication devices for the entire consortium. I was directly responsible for installation and support, performance monitoring maintaining acceptable performance levels and network and E-mail reliability.
I managed the production acceptance and placed into production the Oracle Financial Systems and the new laboratory and imaging systems.
I managed the team for the successful evaluation, procurement and installation of system monitoring software. An RFP was distributed and a several step evaluation process was undertaken utilizing a critical needs matrix methodology. The evaluation process concluded with the choice of a vendor package. In the second project stage, all systems within the Data Center and in out board locations of the consortium were inventoried. All of the systems servers (including main frames), and all network hardware (routers and hubs etc.) were identified and labeled. A series of comprehensive circuit diagrams was created. This information was used to create the monitoring matrix for the tool (Patrol).
In project phase three, the chosen tool was installed and meetings were held with all area leaders to confirm the criticality of the different systems throughout the hospital consortium. This information was used to populate the package rules and to set thresholds for monitoring action alerts. Rules were set for automatic notification of critical staff and the system was tested through several live test scenarios.

I was responsible for the Disaster Recovery project. I scheduled meetings throughout the hospitals to determine the total I/T related inventory and to identify the mission critical as well as any non-data center related I/T systems which may have been locally installed. I managed the installation of an inventory maintenance product to track all of the hardware and software throughout the user community. I designated disaster recovery teams to be available and ready in the event of a disaster and coordinated disaster meeting sites and off-site control areas well in advance of the first disaster recovery test. I managed the creation of an overall five year disaster recovery plan which was then reviewed and accepted by all business managers.
I doubled the size of the facility and updated all systems including the emergency power systems, the computer room air conditioning as well as the building air conditioning.

Cap Gemini, White Plains NY
I proposed, presented to management and ultimately created the Cap Gemini North East Help Desk. During this project I evaluated and installed Help Desk software, hired the customer service staff, built the facility and put in place a knowledge base of issues. I expanded the help desk to a larger facility, put together a twenty four hour staff and sold numerous outside customers on the efficiency and competitiveness of our service.
In the first year of operation the Help Desk exceeded profit projections by 150 percent and I was then asked to create a world class facility including fault tolerance of equipment, complete building and software security, and unparalleled customer response. Calls were never allowed to be on hold for more than twenty seconds.

I managed a Natural Work Team to create a worldwide enterprise-testing offering. This natural work team was based in Dallas and in London. I have performed numerous testing engagements and have instructed numerous customers on the methodologies for enterprise and local testing systems. In this capacity I have been a featured speaker on testing in London, Paris, Stockholm, California, Boston and Tampa. I was one of the few members of Cap Geminis TransMillennium team authorized to discuss testing approaches during speaking engagements.

I worked closely with customer executives and application users to implement an end-to-end QA process called BASELINE. BASELINE is a methodology for creating error free IT application systems results based on proper testing and validation techniques. BASLINE was evaluated by numerous keystone accounts and was described as a bullet proof QA system. The BASELINE methodology was strictly followed through all test phases from unit testing through regression and acceptance testing with admirable and efficient results as well as experiencing a mass reduction in defects.

State of Florida, Department of Labor, Tallahassee FL
Project Manager during the Departments Year 2000 renovation. I created, trained and provided Year 2000 testing methodologies to the Department of Labor renovation team and presented, implemented and trained the Departments staff in application renovation and baseline testing methodology.
