EW #222 have a great many things in common. First and foremost is an abiding interest in firearms, one that has spanned five decades for Mac and three for Doug. If your firm needs someone who knows guns and knows them well, chances are extremely good that & Associates can be of assistance.
The following Curriculum Vitae on both men synopsize some of their past experiences and accomplishments. They fail, however, to tell the whole story.....to fill in between the lines and give potential clients the full picture of two interesting fellows who have essentially dedicated and devoted their professional lives to the firearms field via: Gunsmithing, Teaching, Designing, Competing, Investigating and Enforcing the Law.
Mac and Doug haven't been whiling away their time fiddling with guns in their basements _ they're professional, full-time gunsmiths who've worked on many thousands of guns for a total of some forty years. The high-quality, innovative gun parts and gunsmithing tools they've invented and marketed are carried in catalogs and gun shops throughout the nation. Their gun work and articles about them have appeared in virtually every major firearms magazine published in the United States. They are both members, as & Associates ), of the prestigious American Handgunner Top 100 Pistolsmiths of North America.
Now in his mid-fifties, he started his career as a local deputy sheriff who, after some fifteen-plus years of full-time service, was forced into early retirement on a medical disability. He retired as a sergeant, having spent most of his time (besides serving as an investigator and patrol supervisor) assigned collaterally as his deparment's chief rangemaster and armorer. During his police career he made in excess of 1,500 arrests and testified innumerable times in state and federal courts.
Upon leaving the force, he expanded to full-time the gunsmithing business he'd started in 1970; he also obtained a California Private Investigators license and actively pursued firearms and stalking cases until the demands of the growing gunsmithing business required his full-time attention.
His partner graduated from the prestigious gunsmithing school at Colorado School of Trades in 1984, having begun that curriculum shortly after high school. Now in his mid-thirties, he has been working full-time in the gunsmithing profession ever since completion of trade school and has built a national reputation for the quality and integrity of his work and his in-depth knowledge of firearms. Doug also completed the basic police academy and has, for a number of years, volunteered his services as a reserve deputy sheriff (ironically for the same department that Mac retired from). His primary assignment is as the department's firearms consultant/expert and as a firearms instructor.
has, for nearly twenty years, provided firearms training, including concealed weapon permit (CCW) programs, to the lawfully-armed public. SM&A courses are recognized and approved by many local law enforcement agencies; EW #222 holds a state license for Basic Firearms Safety Certification. Over two thousand students have been trained by EW #222 the past twenty years or so.
EW #222 now offers its years of experience and expertise to the legal community. Whether it is a simple matter of firearm identification or a complex issue such as trying to duplicate a previous result with a given firearm, EW #222 has the experience, resources and technical know-how to fill the bill.
