Short Biography:
EW #541 P.E. has devoted his professional life to the design and analysis of building mechanical systems. After one year of teaching at the University of California, Berkeley, he entered the consulting engineering field in 1949 and became chief mechanical engineer of a large architect/engineering firm in 1951. He formed his own firm in 1956 and joined with Hayakawa in 1959 to form Mechanical & Electrical Engineers where he served as President until 1974.
In 1974 he formed E. Management, which became Associates in 1977, to specialize in the application of advanced analytical techniques for building energy conservation and design of solar heating, off-peak cooling and other innovative heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.
He has been in responsible charge of the design of over 800 major projects representing a construction cost of over one billion dollars. Categories of projects included high rise offices and commercial centers, hospitals and laboratories, hotels and residential buildings, universities and colleges, schools, theaters and entertainment centers, jails and correctional facilities, TV and sound studios, governmental buildings and industrial facilities.
