Oversees a Chicago-based firm which provides a wide range of consulting and management services to medical practices, hospitals and other types of health care providers. Consulting services include: strategic planning for health care providers, hospital-physician transactions, mergers and acquisitions of medical practices, medical practice valuation, group practice formation, formation of provider managed care networks, structuring/negotiating transactions, and assisting financially troubled organizations. Management services are oriented primarily toward medical practices, physician networks, and hospital-physician entities; through the firm's affiliate, Plomann & Associates, the firm provides comprehensive medical practice and provider network management services. He is also Editor of The Journal of Health Care Finance and, in addition, is involved in Internet broadcasting activities.

Although The Health Capital Group deals with all types of health care organizations, He spends most of his time dealing with physicians and hospitals. His activities include structuring and negotiating medical practice mergers and acquisitions, medical group practice formation, valuing medical practices, and formation of provider-based health care networks.
