EMPLOYMENT: President of Crane Inspection Services, Inc., Fairhope, AL. One of approximately 118 agencies accredited by the U.S. Department of Labor under 29 CFR Part 1919 to inspect, test, and issue documents/papers of certification where required on shore-based material-handling devices and floating cranes and derricks under OSHA Maritime Safety Regulations. Crane Inspection Services, Inc. is accredited by California OSHA.
My expertise is a result of 27 years of crane and equipment operation and maintenance experience. Prior to going into business for myself, I worked as an in-house OSHA compliance inspector for one of the largest construction companies in the U.S. I have also worked as a job superintendent on a $2.2 million project for Scott Paper Company, Mobile, AL.
As President of Crane Inspection Services, Inc., I perform inspections, teach training seminars, and conduct accident investigations for a number of large companies across the country from the state of Maine to Washington.
I am now one of a small number of delegates from the United States of America to the Technical Advisory Group (TAG) within ISO, Technical Committee for Cranes TC96. This committee meets with other international safety delegates to discuss the formulation of crane safety guidelines.
EDUCATION: BA degree, Spring Hill College, 1980.
Participated in programs and courses offered in Orlando, FL, Norfolk, VA, Milwaukee, WI, and at the OSHA Institute in Chicago, IL.
Certified OSHA instructor for the Construction Standards 1910, 1919, and 1926.
