Assistant Village Manager Village of Tinley Park, IL 1997 to 1999
Assistant Village Manager. Direct Building, Zoning, Economic Development, Planning divisions. Assist with convention center, initiated major flood control & open space projects, directed Comprehensive Plan. Directed Transit Oriented Development Plan, Bikeway Plan, solicited and received several grants.
Director Land Use & Planning Will County, Illinois 1994 to 1997
Direct the Building, Zoning, Planning, Engineering, Solid Waste Departments of Will County, a rapidly growing County of 400,000 in the Chicago Metropolitan Area. Reengineered the Building and Engineering Division. Successfully managed development in the most rapidly developing local government in Illinois. Restored integrity, morale, & prestige of Department. Developed Transportation and Eastern Will County Land Plan, started GIS and Storm Water Plan.
Transportation Planner NE Illinois Transportation Authority (RTA) 1980-1982
Prepared plans for improvements to Illinois Transportation commuter rail Northeastern and bus transit. Economic development coordination.

Supervised subdivision design and development. Conducted market research. Managed development of housing with passive solar homes. Constructed and operated model homes.
Planning Director / Acting Manager Village of Park Forest South 1977-1979
Prepared comprehensive plan and zoning ordinance for Federally funded "New Town". Developed and implemented economic development plan. Subdivision review. Served as Acting Village Manager.
Executive Director Will County Regional Planning Commission 1973-1977
Promoted from intern to planner to Director of planning and Plat Officer for rapidly growing county of 300,000 in Chicago Metropolitan Area. Prepared first County General Plan with nine subsidiary plans and supporting ordinances. Processed over 200 land developments. Led major department expansion.
Student University of Illinois Governors State 1971-1973
Completed B.A. in twenty one months in Public Administration. Began Masters degree. Served internship with the Will County Planning Department - helped develop open space plan. Worked part time and promoted to Captain in the Marine Corps Reserve. Platoon Commander. Top Secret Security Clearance.
First Lieutenant United States Marine Corps 1967-1971
Enlisted in the Marine Corps and trained as an air controller. Selected for officer training and served as a Communication / Electronics Officer. Supervised 100 Marines in Vietnam, earning 5 letters of Commendation.
Social Worker Prince of Peace Corps 1966-1967
Directed a teen center in the inner city of Norfolk, VA. Worked to improve community, sought jobs for residents, park improvements, ran scout troop, integrated the Dismal Swamp, worked with gangs.
