Short Biography:
EW #543 is admitted to the Massachusetts Bar and Federal Bar for the District of Massachusetts, specializing in the representation of equipment leasing industry participants including lessors, lessees, vendors and funding sources. He received his Juris Doctor from the New England School of Law, his Master in Business Administration in Finance from Suffolk University and his Bachelor of Science in Economics and Associate of Science in Accounting from Bentley College.
In addition to maintaining his own practice, He is General Counsel to the National Association of Equipment Leasing Brokers. He has lectured on leasing and commercial law at numerous national and regional meetings of the National Association of Equipment Leasing Brokers, the Eastern Association of Equipment Lessors, the United Association of Equipment Leasing and Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education for the Massachusetts Bar Association. He served on the Massachusetts Governor's Council task force for the Adoption of Article 2A to the Massachusetts Uniform Commercial Code, which was signed into law by the Massachusetts Governor and he was a cosponsor of that Bill. He also served on the Massachusetts Governor's Council task force for the revisions to the Massachusetts Uniform Commercial Code Article 9 and participated in a panel presented by Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education on the new Article 9. He has published in The Monitor, The Lease Closer, The International Leasing Resource Exchange and Leasing Logic, the newsletter of the National Association of Equipment Leasing Brokers. He is a co-author of UCC Article 2A Personal Property Leasing, published by the Massachusetts Bar Association. He is a contributing author for Power Tools for Successful Leasing, having written a chapter on Broker/Funder Relations. He is also qualified by Technical Advisory Services for Attorneys (TASA) as an expert witness in the field of equipment leasing.
In March of 2001, EW #543 was selected to participate and provided a lecture to Russian Leasing Executives in Washington, D.C. to assist in the building of a leasing economy in Russia.
EW #543 has also earned the designation of Certified Lease Professional ("CLP") by successfully passing the detailed examination concentrating on multiple aspects of equipment leasing required to earn such designation. Heis one of only approximately 200 individuals in the United States to have earned this designation and only the second attorney in the United States to have earned this designation.
