EW #349 Services professionals have many years of experience in this field and thoroughly understand the litigation process. Our most frequent assignment is to determine or evaluate economic damages in a dispute and be prepared to testify about opinions in court or in hearings, as an expert witness. As CPAs, with the additional distinction of being Accredited in Business Valuations, and as former businesspersons, we are especially expert in accounting matters, business valuations, and a wide range of financial issues. We understand the importance of clear, concise and understandable communication of financial analysis and economic damages and have several professionals who have testified many times in U.S. District and Bankruptcy Courts, in state courts, and in arbitration hearings.
Our understanding of the litigation process and our many experiences in dispute resolution give us the ability to “provide financial and business advice throughout the litigation process.” This means that can add value by assisting clients and their attorneys before suits or claims are filed; during the discovery process; in efforts to settle disputes; and at trial and hearings. We serve as expert witnesses, forensic accountants, consulting experts, and in such neutral capacities as Arbitrator, Special Master, Examiner, Fiscal Agent, and court-appointed appraiser. We also understand the importance of fee identification and cost control through the litigation process and have processes to achieve those objectives.
