Responsibilities as the Vice President of Safety and Organizational Development for Roberson Transportation Companies’ fleet of 1,200 over-the-road trucks included:
· Compliance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
· Development of loss prevention practices and driver safety training
· Negotiation and purchase of self-insured insurance programs
· Management of in-house claims handling of truck liability, cargo, and worker’s compensation claims
· Recruitment and screening over 1,800 new drivers in 2002
· Creation of new driver orientation program
· On-site investigation of 40+ serious and fatal truck accidents
· Corporate representative and testifying witness at depositions and trials

· Speaker at Trucking Industry Defense Association annual meeting in Kansas City in October 2002.
· Speaker at American Trucking Association Highway Litigation Conference in September 1999 in Monterey, CA.
· Co-developed a new sleep apnea testing protocol with Dr. David Fletcher for all newly employed truck drivers.
· Reduced truck accident expenses by $5.4 M per year as VP-Safety.
· Passed Department of Transportation Compliance Review with Satisfactory Safety Rating in December 2002.
· Managed Department of Labor employment classification audit in August 2002.
· Developed computer based securement training module for Carrier Corp.
