Database Applications
The following is a partial listing of database projects NFI has completed under my leadership. I have been the prime or often the only developer on the project. All of these have required database architecture, UI development and enhancements, coding in VBA and often other languages.
Price Waterhouse Coopers/CB Richard Ellis/CLW
Access 2000. Forecasting Application. This application uses heat-map technology to provide a visual representation of underlying tabular data, which is also displayed. Application has been built with easy access to read, add, edit/update and delete data.
Cowabunga (Dominos Pizza)
Access 2003. Reporting application bug fixes and new features.
Atlantic Southeast Airlines (ASA)
Access 2000. Report Incident Program Application.

The Home Depot
Currently maintaining four different software applications for The Home Depot in Atlanta, Boston and Toronto. One of them generates dynamic HTML on the fly for posting to the intranet site. MS Access 2000 and MS Access 97. Several new projects have also involved pushing the outer envelopes of the functionality of MS Excel such as for their in-house Supplier Evaluation system.

Turner Broadcasting System
Building and maintaining a Risk Management System. MS Access 2000.

Cox Communications
This project is a compliance database and data integrity and data migration project for Cox Communications Legal Department. Project involved pulling in data from Oracle, Excel, Access and Text files. Project should be completed at approximately 50% of the original budget. MS Access 2000.

HR Manager
This is an in-house application that we are currently developing. It will be available as a click-wrapped application for HR Departments across the country, starting with Georgia. Web-based application using MS Access 2000 and SQL Server databases.

Deloitte-Touche in Denver, Co. (Practice Management Application)
Multi-user (up to 30 users per location). Practice Management Application for billing, time tracking, etc. used by Denver, Albuquerque, Houston and other offices. Distributed Application uses replication and synchronization. MS Access 2000.

The Great Gatsbys
Currently maintaining two software applications for The Great Gatsbys and The Great Estates auction houses. MS Access 2000. Have built extensive data integrity checks.

Allied Marketing
Designed database for House-holding for Allied Marketing. MS Access 2000 and SQL Server.

Creative Loafing (CR2000)
Commission Tracking Application for Creative Loafing built on behalf of Thinq, Inc. MS Access 2000.

Balentine & Co. (PT2000)
Portfolio Tracking Application for Balentine & Company. MS Access 2000.

IDI Group (JT2000)
Job Tracking Application for IDI Group and its six different businesses built for Thinq, Inc. MS Access 2000.

Advanced Rehab (OT2000)
Order Tracking Application for Advanced Rehabs wheelchair assembly business. MS Access 2000.

Rhema Vision Care (VisionCare)
Patient Visit information system for Rhema Vision Care in Macon, Ga. MS Access 2000.

Source One Systems (Quote Master 2000)
Order Tracking System for electrical supplier. MS Access 2000.

Pre-New Frontiers International, Ltd.
The following projects were prior to New Frontiers International, Ltd.

They typically included meeting with clients, data base design, performance analysis, developing and a writing code, creating macros, creating queries, creating tables, GUI interface design for querying, data entry and more. I was also responsible for designing reports, data modeling and requirements gathering. Called API functions, created comprehensive error trapping. Required follow up tasks such as training and using a feedback loop to make changes/fixes to system.
Harbinger, Inc.

Sharkware to Outlook Migration of Harbinger's contacts from one system to another
Sybase, Access '97, Outlook '97, Windows NT

Client/Server Programmer/Analyst. Project completed to spec in 65% of slated time and budget saving Harbinger money and time. Harbinger President and all other users and IT staff very impressed and pleased!

Lead developer and lead programmer. Full life-cycle development. Data migrated from Sybase contact manager named Sharkware to Access. Created mapping routines, cleaned up data, and developed a new table structure to take the normalized data that Sybase has to the de-normalized format that Outlook requires. Kept the integrity of the many-to-one relationships in spite of this.

Application has modular design and can be quickly reconfigured (logos, address info, etc.) for other companies as well. Completed additional tasks beyond original scope during duration of project. Development included custom error handling/logging routine, modular report forms, complex queries, and more. Built forms in Outlook and wrote code as well.

ARIA/ARIA Admin/ASDR
Crystal Reports 6.0 web application/Access '97 GUI/Sybase 11.0 back end database

Lead analyst/developer. Sole analyst/developer for ARIA Admin developed in Access and using ODBC and SQL pass-through queries to get to the Sybase back end. Sole developer/lead analyst for Sybase back-end database. Build data model, defined relationships, indexes (indices!), views, etc. Created security model. Built ARIA Admin GUI application that is used to administer ARIA web-based global reporting application. Worked with Access '97, Sybase 11, SQL Advantage, Sybase Central, and SQL Server Manager. Also set up ODBC drivers.

Created an MS Access database to consolidate data from disparate and mutually incompatible data sources. Created screens for data entry and for querying. Wrote both technical and user documentation.

Metric Reporting System
Access '97/Sybase back end

Project Manager and MS Access Developer on behalf of Media Masters. The project was running very late and none of the deliverables had been met. I was brought in to help complete the MS Access project as well as to meet client expectations with specified deliverables. Under my steering, both of those objectives were met. Reports that had been taking 1 hour to run were now running in 2 to 30 seconds after I redeveloped the application. As a result, versions 2.x and 3.x were commissioned, though only 2.x was completed before decision was made to migrate application to true client server technology (see ARIA and ARIA Admin, above). MS Access GUI application delivered using modular design resulting in 35 reports that can each be run in several hundred different ways giving literally over 10,000 possible reports. Primary development completed several months ago. Still maintaining application on an on-going basis.

Application written for MCI Billing Analysts. Wrote code, redid GUI front end of application, built reports, and executed QA testing and usability. In conjunction, built QC Testing MDB for team usage. Both applications were written in Access '97.
