His long experience as capt. in merchant marine and offshore O/G industry includes 10 years as capt. of large, powerful, anchor-handling / tug / supply vessels, crewboats, servicing offshore rigs/platforms in many international areas. Master of dynamically-positioned (DP) drillships, and Barge Engineer and Offshore Installation Manager aboard self-propelled, semi-submersible, column-stabilized, floating drilling rigs (MODU's). Due to experience, frequently acted as Person-in-Charge/Rig mover of MODU relocation operations (MODU rig moves), Gulf of Mexico/internationally.

Edison Chouest Offshore, Inc.(1995-97). Master, new container ship contracted to Military Sea-Lift Command operating throughout W.Pacific, S.E.Asia, Indian Ocean. Shuttling refrigerated, dry vans, and live ammunition containers between Japan, Guam, Singapore and Diego Garcia for U.S.Navy. Served on DP deep water dive support vessels, with ROVs, internationally, contracted to U.S. Navy’s Deep Submergence Unit, between Hawaii and San Diego. Master, new ice-breaker - Nathaniel B. Palmer, based between New Zealand Tasmania and Chile, operating in Antarctica, contracted to National Science Foundation, funded by U.S. Navy’s - Operation Deep Freeze. Responsible for planned maintenance, stability, rig relocations, maintaining rig positioning over location. Responsible for safety, training, offloading/loading drilling materials, and all marine operations. Involvement in budgeting rig operating costs.
