BACKGROUND

He has worked within the industry for over 25 years. He has been certified as a Ceramic Tile Consultant through the CTIOA since 1979 and is currently the chairman of a Technical Committee. Donato also has been a member of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) since 1982 and has been certified as a Construction Document Technologist (CDT). He has extensive experience in installation products and systems for ceramic tile and stone products, having worked for a major manufacturer for seven years. With a science educational background, an MBA, and 25 years of tile and stone experience from installation to distribution to manufacturing, Donato is a qualified Expert Witness.


PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Ceramic Tile Installation: In the late 1960’s he worked for a Union Ceramic Tile Contractor in Los Angeles, CA as a Union helper. He has continued to do installation projects for personal use over the years.


17 Years as a Ceramic Tile and Stone Distributor: he has extensive experience consulting and assisting architects with their ceramic tile and stone selections and installation methods. He worked closely with ceramic tile and stone installers, as well as with the general contractors, educating them and helping them design installation systems.


7 Years as a Manufacturer of Installation Systems: As Regional Sales Manager for a manufacturer of installation products and systems for ceramic tile and stone, he often provided technical consultation to architects, general contractors and installers. He is an experienced installation specifications writer and has investigated and resolved many installation failures.

20+ Years of Training: he has extensive experience in teaching installation methods for ceramic tile and stone to architects, installers, distributors, and manufacturers and he has achieved effective results. His goal then, as it is today, is to develop and provide training programs and technical information that will help prevent potential installation problems. Donato is an effective speaker and is proficient at giving presentations and demonstrations.
