Marine Coordinator and Tow Master to BP-Shells Holstein Spar Project, worth $1 billion dollars. Tow Master in the first in harbor barge float off of a major structure, 10,000 tons. Simultaneously coordinated 17 vessels in support of construction. Tow Master for the afloat joining/welding of major components, 40,000 tons.

DIAMOND OFFSHORE DRILLING, INC. Houston, Texas 1990 2003

Marine Superintendent of Semi-submersible Operations (1996 2003)
Responsible for eight semi-submersibles in SE Asia, Australia and Gulf of Mexico, including: shipyard new buildings and up-grades, anchor pattern design, rig moving and ocean voyage planning, towage contract negotiations worth $2.5 million, ultra-deep mooring surpassing 6,000 feet, harbor entry and departure, rig mobilization estimates.

Member of planning and execution team of Master Mariners that minimized insurance costs due to rig moving and mooring, saving an estimated $3 million in annual premiums and another $3 million in outside consultants fees.

Headed on site marine services teams for three Victory Class rig up-grades of over $100 million each, ahead of schedule, in US and Singapore shipyards.

Team leader in charge afloat on several first-of-kind applications, world records, adjacent drilling near SPAR production platforms using specialized highly technical mooring procedures for Kerr McGee. World record water depth using conventional moorings for Murphy Oil, Malaysia.

Created fleet Marine Procedures and Operations Manual, resulting in more uniform and safer operations for marine personnel offshore. Manual detailed aspects of operations, safety, health issues and environmental protection.

Master-Offshore Installation Manager (1990 1996)
Commanded self-propelled MODUs valued at $73 million with gross daily revenues of $120,000. Directed the activities of six department heads and a staff of 100 persons. Served in rigs in UK sector of North Sea as well as Gulf of Mexico.

Prevented drifting rig from colliding with major gas platform during whole gale, when tow lines to tug boats parted. This saved lives, prevented pollution and avoided unfavorable publicity.

Avoided any LTAs on rigs where assigned as Master-OIM which resulted in enhanced marketability of rigs for company and reduced insurance premiums.

Created video safety training programs that indoctrinated new employees and visitors in rig safety. Facilitated more efficient use of workforce by establishing uniform training standard. Combined audio and visual training aids, which increased retention of crucial lifesaving instructions.
