Responsible for all aspects of managing subjects with HIV/AIDS on several research studies in the AIDS Clinical Research Center. Aspects include screening newly diagnosed patients for qualifications for study entry, patient/family counselling and teaching, study protocol management from start-up to closure, subject visits, elements of case management and holistic coordination of care internally as well as externally with community resources. Nurse Manager experience included 24/7 accountability for 32 bed GI Med/Surg Intermediate Unit; 16 bed Surgical/Trauma Transplant Intensive Care Unit; and 32 bed Surgical Transplant StepDown Unit. Successes included the development and implementation of a Shared Governance Model with positive outcomes evidenced. Developed and implemented a new model of care delivery as a result of budget driven skill mix changes with an increase in patient and staff satisfaction.
