He is a member of the International Microwave Power Institute, the Institute of Packaging Professionals and the Institute of Food Technologists, and an Honorary Member of the U.K. Microwave Technology Association.

Professional Appointments
He was the CEO of the International Microwave Power Institute for 12 years and on its Board of Governors for 18 years. He was an Associate Editor for the Journal of Microwave Power and for the Microwave Energy Applications Newsletter. He has been program or conference chairman for 17 international microwave conferences present in the U.S., Europe, and Australia.

Awards/Recognition
He is a Fellow of the International Microwave Power Institute, an Honorary Member of the U.K. Microwave Association, and was a Scientific Lecturer for the Institute of Food Technologists for five years.

Bob is the author of numerous articles on subjects relating to microwave technology. He has over 30 U.S. patents, primarily in the fields of microwaves and the storage of perishables.

Consulting Services:
Examples of the company's recent activities in microwave ovens include: development of a low-fat microwavable crust; determination of the cause of spontaneous fracture of glass jars in microwave ovens and elimination of the problem; development of a microwavable egg roll; development of a new browning system for bakery products; development of a long-shelf-life microwavable hamburger bun; and, the development and testing of a new non-food microwavable consumer product.

Examples of the company's recent activities in industrial microwave heating systems include: development of a large granola processing system which is in commercial operation; a new microwave processing procedure for the manufacture of coated fish and poultry; processing of airplane components; development of a pilot-size microwave/steam retort; and, development of a method for foaming and drying of inorganic polymers.

International Experience:
2000 to 2000 - The Netherlands - he assisted a Dutch company in the successful development of a microwavable spring roll. The product is currently in the market.

1994 to 1994 - Norway - He developed a line of retail refrigerated microwavable savory-filled pastries which involved the development of a pastry dough that was crisp after microwaving.

1992 to 1992 – Canada - He developed a line of microwavable filled sandwiches, which won numerous new product awards in Canada.

Expert Witness
He has had several situations in which he was called upon to prepare reports, consult, and testify as an expert witness. These cases have dealt with patent infringement, contract disputes, intellectual property, microwave oven injury and industrial fires, relating to microwavable products, packaging or cookwave, and microwave and RF processing systems. He has worked for both plaintiffs and defendants. He reviewed patents and documents, performed laboratory work, and prepared testimony for these cases.

Training/Seminars
He is available to provide training/seminars in the areas of microwave ovens (fundamental microwave technology, food product development, packaging, product testing) and industrial microwave processing (industrial heating systems, economic analysis, and testing techniques). He lectures widely on microwave topics throughout the U.S., Europe, Canada, Australia, and the Orient.
