He will investigate and make recommendations to mining companies in areas of safety and health. Designed and produced the DVD Haul Road and Dump Site Berms currently being distributed by MSHA.
Digital Versatile Disc (DVD) technology means more interactivity is available to both student and instructor. Use DVD for self-study or classroom presentations. No longer are passive learning and the teacher-centered approach, the only option available. With a DVD equipped computer or a DVD desktop player linked to your television, you control the sequence, the pace, and select materials important to you.
Use the DVD to customize your training. Vary the length of your study time. Make your training sessions 10 minutes, several hours or several days. The flexibility of the DVD program helps reinforce a positive and effective learning environment.
Menus quickly show the program content. Navigate through the program with easy-to-use controls and buttons. With an Internet-connected computer, easily accessed web sites are available.


Entry Level Inspectors Training:
Chaired Committee for Entry Level Inspectors (Each student is required to complete 23 weeks of training before graduation from the academy and authorization to conduct inspections.)

Surface Haulage Seminar: Planned and organized the Surface Haulage Seminar held annually at the National Mine Academy each July, ( 150 attendees for 3 day seminar)

SHARP Program: Surface Haulage Accident Reduction Program. Interviewed, coordinated, and instructed the training of 40 inspectors who, in turn, teach classes in their own districts.

Distance Learning Program: Developed ways of training for miners and inspectors who could not attend the Academy for regularly scheduled training. (Satellite, closed circuit television, self-contained computer programs, videos.)
