Gerry has a wide industry experience working for Australian and international companies in senior operational and general management roles. Since 1987, Gerry has been practicing as a forest industry consultant and has provided advice to Australian and Asia Pacific enterprises on plantations, forest operations and industry developments.
He has participated in a number of statewide strategic studies relating to the restructuring of the timber industry following government decisions regarding the increased reservation of native forests. Gerry has been involved in environmental audits and development of Environmental Management Systems and the integration of Safety Management Systems.
Gerry has acted as Executive Officer and Councilor for a number of forest industry groups and other organisations. He is highly experienced in the field of sustainable forest management being a Forest Practices Manager for Planning and inspection of forest operations in Tasmania. He currently does annual audits of forest operations for five companies in plantations and on logging operations in Western Australia, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania and Queensland.
