EW #443 has been involved in worldwide exploration and production activities since the 1960's. In that time he has worked for major companies-British Petroleum, Shell Canada, and Marathon Oil Company- and has served as vice president of H.K. van Poollen and Associates, Petroleum Consultants.
In 1978, EW #443 established his own worldwide consulting practice, offering a wide range of services, including geologic appraisal, petrophysical interpretation, company and prospect evaluation, teaching and technology exchange, and expert witness activities. Important clients include the United Nations, the Securities and Exchange Commission, Texaco, and the International Human Resource Development Corporation. In 1994, he formed Resource Information Services, Ltd., to expand software development capabilities. He Michael is a visiting professor to the University of Brunei, offering courses in well log analysis, production geology, and international petroleum economics.
During the course of his career, he has published a large number of technical articles in petroleum economics, drilling costs, reservoir evaluation, and petrophysics. Equity determinations require a unique level of diligence and precision in data handling and manipulation. Techniques and software used must be able to stand up to legal scrutiny.
